About the ImagesAll images are printed on Epson or other premium grade acid free papers using Epson UltraChrome® pigment based inks. This paper and ink combination can reliably be expected to stay fade free for at least 150 years when displayed behind glass.(see Note 1) Printed images are mounted to 3/16" acid free foamcore mounting board using either 3M positionable mounting adhesive or a pH neutral water based starch adhesive. No heat is applied during any process. My single or double mat surrounds are made from acid free, lignin free, groundwood free pH neutral mat board. Most mats are from the Crescent Ultimat®, Crescent Select® or Crescent Ragmat® range. Mat boards are attached to the mounted print using either 3M acid-free tape or pH neutral and buffered PVA adhesive specially formulated for this application. Framed pictures use True-Vue "Conservation Clear"2 premium UV protective glass which filters out more than 97% of harmful UV radiation. I use 2.5mm picture framing glass compared to 2mm ordinary glass used in inferior frames. This glass does not employ an anti-reflective etched surface which tends to obscure artwork detail. All framed images are assembled as a sealed package of glass, mat board and backing before placement in the frame. This technique helps protect your investment from dust and other environmental hazards. All my frames are V-nailed and glued for strength. They are covered at the rear with a protective dust barrier. To complete your frame package I attach durable galvanized or stainless steel wire to appropriately sized hangars and add a couple of plastic "bump-on" pads to the bottom of the frame to protect your walls.
